We just had a little excitement with a tornado passing by our place. We lost a few big limbs and got really blasted with wind and rain. Thomas and I went out and perhaps got a picture of it here – they said the tornado itself wasn’t visible because it was surrounded by rain, but I don’t know. The power of God is awesome. Thomas and I prayed the blood of Jesus over our place, commanded the winds away from people, etc. The girls were a little more timid. Caleb was driving home from church during these moments and we made him turn around and wait a while. In the pic below we are just north of the blue dot near Ellis, SD just beneath the two tornado circles on the map. This weather map was after it had passed us.

We were praying for you guys when we saw it on the news. From our view point here in Sioux Falls, the storm looked awesome!!! It was amazing watching the clouds moving… just another show of God’s amazing power.

Steve – We were thinking of you all. Is the creek full and fast running?
Brenda – I was thinking the same thing. “Open the floodgates of Heaven, let it rain, let it rain.” – was a key song in Lakeland

The creek is definitely full – bring your kayak! I told Kristen yesterday we need to see the enormous amounts of rain we are getting as the favor of God. And I love that it’s also West River – flooding in Belle Fouche.
Andrew would have been proud – I haven’t commanded a storm since our Herrnhut journey last year. If I’d have had a robe, long hair and a beard you would have thought Elijah himself was out standing in the wind/rain facing the black clouds coming against on our property last night, arms raised decreeing and prophesying. Then I retreated to the basement with my new weather radio. The kids would have never let me do that when we lived in town on 18th street.

Having lived through a direct hit from a Tornado when I was younger, I can vouch for Gods amazing power.
Imagine this,
We had a horse barn that was about 300 feet long with an indoor riding area.
The outer structure was all tin, like a Morton building. The barn was almost fully wiped out, but we had a colt in a stall in the barn that was less then 12 hours old standing with it’s mother in a stall. When all was said and done mom and baby stood in the stall which was still intact, but filled with large pieces of wood from the rafters, both horses were completely unharmed. Not a single scratch.
In the same storm the top story of our house was lifted up, turned about a foot and sat back down. I could stand in my bedroom and look over the edge of the wall straight down to the ground.
There were so many little things that it’s hard to even imagine.

I was just thinking on my drive to Colorado about the famine and the harvest. The rain I believe is taking place all over the country and has direct correlation to the fact that the famine is over and God is bringing harvest back to America. Its coming with force and with over-flowing rivers. There are no more dry creek beds!

I went to Marty SD area Friday and helped out the Tornado victims hit in that vacinity. Wow! It is beyond words the devistation that happens in the blink of an eye. I met some awesome people and felt so blessed to be able to simply listen to their stories. It also felt so nice to be around so many others …… who just wanted to help. God gives us such incredibly tender hearts. I am so glad your family and home weathered the storm and that you turned to God to ask for the covering of his mighty hand. He really should be our first thought…
